With the Federal Government’s recent renewal of interest in totally eradicating poverty, unemployment and inculcation of various vocational skill acquisition consciousness and knowledge in the lives of the youths of the Nation, there is going to be an expected increase in the economic position of the Nation.
The Director General of National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed, recently stated that the NDE is presently situating it’s operation within the mainstream of the Economic restructuring of the current administration and the milestones of relevant reform policies.
How to Access the Training
• Interested individuals will start by obtaining a free form to be given at the NDE office
• Step Two, you’ll go to the job centre for assessment
• You will then be posted to the programme suitable and best fitted according to NDE programme schedules
How Trainees can access cash and start Business
• Graduate trainees attracts a sum of N250,000 from NDE to start a business. Any person who passes through NDE will be given this money.
• Artisans attracts N100,000 to start a business from NDE.
Strategies and Skills and Programme available.
Implementation is anchored on four main core programme areas:
• Vocational Skill Development
• Small Scale Enterprises
• Special Public Works
• Rural Employment Promotion: Basically deals with Agriculture, Agricultural training schools and the basic rudiments of agricultural practices such as livestock production, fish farming, crop processing, arable farming etc.
Duration of the Programme: The training duration varies from three months to three years depending on the nature of the programme.
Criteria for Selection:
The N.D.E has target groups which is mainly-
• The Youths
• Women Groups
• Graduates
• Physically challenged people
• Other Interested Individuals
The office to obtain the Free Training form is:
The Lagos State Office of the National Directorate of Employment which is situated at No. 7 Balikisu – Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, Lagos. or any other office of the N.D.E Nationwide.
